Inner Beauty : Outer Beauty as Tomatoes : Tomatos

You know how when you have a kid and he's throwing up all over the place, he doesn't even have to tell you he's sick, you just know? Well, Dolce didn't have to say anything this afternoon--one glance at her, and I just knew:

Dolce, feeling F-A-T and sad.

She's been playing outside more and is still dieting (a bit harder during the holidays!), but since doctors recommend losing no more than 2 pounds per week it'll be a while before Dolce is satisfied with her body.

So I dressed her up in a new pink jacket--pink is her favorite color--as a little self-esteem boost.

Dolce, feeling prettier in pink!

Her jacket is still a bit snug, and when I saw her lick her lips, I knew she was picturing her F-A-T rolls :( So I took her across town for a playdate. Because one of the fundamental truths of life is. . .

THE QUICKEST WAY TO FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF IS TO STAND NEXT TO SOMEONE WHO IS FATTER AND NOT AS CUTE.

A confident Dolce, center-front and smiling and feeling skinny in comparison to fat and easily forgettable Pookie.

♥ Merry Christmas, Dolce!

  1. Seriously... the thighs need work. Maybe wrap them in saran when she goes for a walk? It certainly could hurt the poor chubby thing.

  2. The color is great but it makes her look fat. Did you show her these pics? Don't... she'll get VERY upset!! Don't feed her for a couple days and she'll look marvelous in her outfit.
    You're the BEST!

  4. Poor Pookie. Maybe he needs an intervention too...

  5. I am not sure you should be 100% confident that your dog’s favorite color is pink. I would think that black would be a better choice – it’s far more slimming! Gotta go – heading down to Pico to write "9-11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB?"
